About The Position

The position involves ensuring the availability of clean linen for the proper care and comfort of all residents. Responsibilities include maintaining all linen in good repair, removing any linen with holes or stains from service, and collecting laundry from residents daily or as needed. The role also requires labeling new residents' clothing items, sorting, treating, washing, drying, and folding clothing and linens, and delivering clean laundry items to resident rooms. Adherence to all sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties is essential, as is maintaining an inventory of laundry supplies and using all laundry equipment and supplies safely. Any issues with laundry equipment must be reported to the Administrator.

Requirements

• GED or High School Diploma
• 1 year of experience preferred
• Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry/housekeeping procedures
• Basic math skills
• Ability to problem solve and seek assistance when needed.

Responsibilities

• Make available a quantity of clean linen for proper care and comfort of all residents.
• Maintain all linen in good repair and remove from service any linen with holes and/or stains.
• Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.
• Label new resident’s clothing items as needed.
• Sort, treat, wash, dry and fold clothing and linens.
• Deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms.
• Follow all sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.
• Maintain inventory of laundry supplies.
• Use all laundry equipment and supplies in a safe manner.
• Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator.
