About The Position

The Jane Assistant Hatchery Manager position is focused on producing the best quality birds at the lowest cost while adhering to Simmons' standards. The manager will oversee hatchery activities across all shifts, ensuring production goals are met and quality standards are maintained. Responsibilities include managing employee schedules, ensuring compliance with animal welfare audits, and maintaining facility hygiene and safety standards. The role also involves budget management, resource allocation, and promoting a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years experience in a management or leadership role in a related field.
• Bachelor of Science in Poultry Science, Animal Science, or related agricultural field, or 4 years of related work experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise production to achieve production goals.
• Coordinate hatchery activities including hatching, sorting, vaccinations, and quality checks.
• Ensure compliance with quality requirements and environmental policies.
• Plan and implement the yearly hatchery budget.
• Manage supplies, utilities, and labor efficiently.
• Oversee cross-functional department operations and shipping schedules.
• Promote a safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations.
• Manage employee performance and collaborate with HR for hiring and disciplinary actions.
• Participate in team development and communication of policies.
• Maintain familiarity with Simmons' operating systems and contribute to improvements.
