About The Position

Leidos Dig Mod Health IT division is seeking a skilled and collaborative Platform System Administrator and Engineer to support a federal agency’s extensive macOS and Windows infrastructure. This role requires a deep technical acumen combined with strong interpersonal skills, as the candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing Apple macOS devices through JAMF Pro and Microsoft Windows devices via Microsoft Intune and Azure. The ideal candidate will excel in both technical problem-solving and effective communication, working seamlessly with cross-functional teams to ensure top-tier support and operational excellence. Candidate MUST: Be able to work onsite 2-3 days per week, locally available for on-site support in Rockville, MD, or Washington, DC. Be a US Citizen or US Person who has lived in the United States for at least three consecutive years and an active Public Trust clearance is preferred.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • JAMF 200+ Certified (or equivalent)
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and eight (8) years of general experience.
  • Six (6) additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelors Degree.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of hands-on experience in system administration and endpoint/device management.
  • Extensive experience managing macOS devices via Jamf Pro in complex enterprise environments.
  • Substantial experience supporting Windows devices in mixed-platform environments including proven expertise in Mobile Device Management (MDM) using Microsoft Intune, and Azure.
  • Create and manage configuration profiles, policies, smart groups, scripts, and packages.
  • Develop automated workflows for provisioning, patching, compliance enforcement, and software distribution.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell)
  • Knowledge of MDM protocols and Apple Business Manager/Apple School Manager
  • Expertise in endpoint management and system administration.

Nice To Haves

  • Public Trust level 4 clearance or similar
  • JAMF 300, JAMF 400, Apple Certified MacOS Technician (ACMT), etc.
  • Familiarity with integration between JAMF and other enterprise systems (Azure AD, SSO solutions)
  • Knowledge of cloud services (iCloud, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365)
  • Integrate macOS management solutions with federal security tools such as identity providers, endpoint protection, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, or compliance platforms.
  • In-depth understanding of endpoint security best practices, including system hardening and compliance.
  • Work closely with federal stakeholders, system administrators, network engineers, cybersecurity teams, and program leadership.
  • Participate in change management processes, technical reviews, and configuration control boards.
  • Provide tier 3 technical escalation support and guidance for IT staff.
  • Experience in overseeing or supporting IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and manage project tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Advanced analytical skills to address complex issues, develop strategic solutions, and execute them effectively.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities and a proactive approach to problem resolution.
  • Expertise in creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation and process improvements.
  • Ability to design and implement standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, deploy, and manage Apple MacOS devices using JAMF, or applicable MacOS device management platform.
  • Ensure efficient setup, imaging, and ongoing support for both macOS and Windows platforms.
  • Provide high-level support for Mac and Windows systems, addressing complex hardware, software, and network issues with precision.
  • Offer VIP user support and resolve high-priority technical challenges.
  • Diagnose and resolve intricate problems, using advanced analytical skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions across macOS and Windows environments.
  • Manage the lifecycle of devices through Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools, ensuring compliance and security following mSCP and third-party security tools.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with IT support teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to address hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Foster a collaborative environment to deliver tailored support and ensure alignment with team objectives.
  • Contribute to project planning, execution, and service improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
