About The Position

The City of Laguna Beach is looking for a committed and detail-oriented Part-Time Jailer to be an essential part of our Police Department. In this dynamic role, you'll work alongside our dedicated Jail Supervisor and sworn officers to ensure the safety and security of our community's jail facility. As a Jailer, you'll be responsible for monitoring inmates, maintaining order, and ensuring the facility operates smoothly. Your daily responsibilities will include conducting thorough cell searches, inspecting for contraband, and keeping the facility in top condition. This is a meaningful, hands-on role where you can directly contribute to the well-being of Laguna Beach. Requirements

• Graduation from high school or the equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age by the time of appointment
• One year of public contact work experience, preferably in a law enforcement agency
• Valid California Driver's license and an acceptable driving record
• Completion of a jailer training academy or similar training is highly desirable

Nice To Haves

• Related college level coursework
• Formal training and/or certification in the field of jail operations
