About The Position

The Clinician will be based at the Police Department and will work alongside police officers in the community providing emergency on-scene assessments of individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. The clinician will evaluate individuals for diversionary levels of care, provide follow-up assessments, and provide short-term intensive crisis intervention. The clinician will assist in program development, attend roll call, assist in police training, work with Town departments, and attend community meetings. Evening hours and some weekend availability required.

Requirements

  • Clinical Master’s degree
  • licensed professional (LICSW, LCSW, LMHC) preferred or license-eligible depending on experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • reliable transportation required

Nice To Haves

  • emergency services experience preferred
  • in-depth knowledge of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 123 and its applications preferred
  • extensive knowledge of DSM V preferred
