The Immunization Coordinator/M.A. position is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support for VFC and adult vaccines under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves overseeing immunization processes, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. The coordinator will also participate in outreach activities to promote immunizations within the community.

  • Oversee adult & VFC immunizations for FHCCLA clinics.
  • Conduct reminder/recalls twice a month.
  • Order vaccines and check inventory.
  • Maintain V.I.S. forms updated and stocked.
  • Log refrigerator/freezer temperatures twice daily and fax logs to VFC weekly.
  • Support, advise, update, and train clinical staff on vaccine updates and inventory control.
  • Develop and implement immunization training and education activities.
  • Maintain records of all staff trainings.
  • Ensure distribution and implementation of updated immunization forms.
  • Maintain accurate records of administered immunizations.
  • Consult with providers regarding vaccine availability and requirements.
  • Identify and implement measures to improve patient care and services.
  • Respond to patient and provider inquiries efficiently.
  • Participate in outreach activities to promote immunizations.
  • Manage patient scheduling and flow with operations managers.
  • Handle patient grievances according to FHCCGLA’s policies.
  • Oversee immunization-related audits.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing FHCCGLA Policies & Procedures.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance regarding patient data.
  • Provide immunizations at all clinic sites.
  • Travel to all sites as required.
  • Perform back-up M.A. responsibilities as needed.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • M.A. Certificate required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of immunization practices.
  • Computer knowledge is a must.
  • FQHC experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Motivation to complete tasks thoroughly and accurately.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of administrative principles and procedures.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Access to an automobile with a valid California driver’s license.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of ten pounds.
  • Experience with NextGen (E.H.R. & PMS), Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to speak Spanish.
  • Knowledge of various health programs and insurance plans.
