About The Position

Under the supervision of the Product Manager, the IWP/Work Release Program Coordinator facilitates and supports the daily participation of the inmates participating in MANNA’s Work Release and Incentive Wage Program, as well as the administrative responsibilities of the program. This role is the primary point of contact between MANNA FoodBank and the Western Carolina Correctional Facility, ensuring compliance with all rules and regulations set forth by both organizations. The Supervisor also serves as a resource and advocate for participants, supporting their skill development and successful transition back into society.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license, clean driving record, and insurability under MANNA’s policy.
  • Experience interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and supervising individuals, preferably in workforce development or similar settings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer programs; database experience helpful
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong writing skills for routine reports and correspondence.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse populations of volunteers, staff, donors and agency representatives in a courteous and professional manner; ability to present to groups of various size and demographics in an engaging manner.
  • Prior experience or proven ability to direct others in achieving the goals of day-to-day operational goals.
  • Skilled in designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs using a variety of instructional methods

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve the MANNA van each morning, drive to the Western Carolina Correctional Facility in Black Mountain and safely transport program participants to MANNA facility daily.
  • Ensure the safe and timely arrival of participants to work, maintaining a strong commitment to transportation safety.
  • Interview, hire, onboard, train, and monitor all program participants, ensuring they understand program expectations and are set up for success.
  • Work directly on the warehouse floor alongside IWP participants as needed to support operations, model expectations, and ensure a safe and productive environment.
  • Provide ongoing support and feedback for all participants.
  • Create and facilitate training programs that help participants build transferable job and life skills to prepare for reentry into the community.
  • Maintain open and transparent communication with Program Managers and Wardens at Western Carolina Correctional facility.
  • Facilitate the completion of weekly grocery list for participants and ensure timely ordering and delivery of groceries.
  • Maintain records of training and certificates acquired by participants during their time at MANNA Foodbank.
  • Facilitate MANNA staff training and ensure compliance with all rules and regulations related to the IWP and Work Release Program.
  • Transport participants to other approved off-site locations as needed (e.g., clothing purchases, appointments).
  • Collaborate with Operations leadership overseeing participants in their departments to provide support and resolve issues.
  • Work with Marketing and Communications when media outlets are on site to obtain appropriate waivers for participants.
  • Create and administer the budget for program materials including clothing, groceries, and training items. i provided to participants by MANNA Foodbank.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of current and past participants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
