About The Position
Vanguard College Prep is seeking a passionate and experienced College Counselor to join our dynamic educational institution. As a College Counselor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting high school students on their journey to college and career readiness. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with students and their families, providing individualized guidance, resources, and support throughout the college application process. This position is designed for those who have a strong commitment to student mentorship and a desire to help students achieve their academic and personal goals. In this role, you will conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to assess their academic and career aspirations. You will provide essential information and guidance on college admissions requirements, standardized testing, and application procedures. Additionally, you will assist students in creating a well-rounded college list that aligns with their interests and aspirations. A significant part of your job will involve reviewing and editing college application essays and resumes, ensuring that students present their best selves to potential colleges. You will also be responsible for organizing college fairs, information sessions, and workshops for students and parents, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages student engagement. Building and maintaining strong relationships with college admissions officers will be key to your success, as will staying up-to-date with changes in college admissions policies and requirements. Collaboration with teachers, administrators, and other staff members will be essential to support student success and ensure a holistic approach to college preparation.
