About The Position

The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Nursing Supervisor for the Chicago Veterans' Home. This role involves overseeing and supervising both professional and paraprofessional nursing staff in the care and treatment of veterans. The Nursing Supervisor will work under the direction of the Assistant Director of Nursing, ensuring high standards of care and facilitating collaboration among various departments within the facility.

Requirements

• Knowledge equivalent to the completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in nursing.
• Three years of progressively responsible professional nursing experience in a public or business organization.
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a full-line supervisor overseeing nursing staff on assigned shifts.
• Ensure total supervision of professional and non-professional staff in the care of residents.
• Facilitate care coordination with other facility staff, including restorative nursing, dietary planning, and physical therapy.
• Develop and establish goals and objectives for nursing care and clinical support services.
• Conduct staff meetings to discuss new policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
