The IVF Laboratory Technician at Vytelle plays a crucial role in the production of bovine embryos, contributing to the genetic progress in livestock. This position is integral to the global team, working closely with colleagues both on-site and off-site to perform various duties associated with embryo production, data entry, and communication. The technician will adhere to all laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) while maintaining a high level of accuracy and integrity in their work. The role requires participation in Vytelle's specialized training program, which prepares team members for fieldwork at satellite locations for oocyte collection and in the IVF lab. This may involve travel to the training facility in Texas. The technician must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating good team interaction, self-management, and adherence to health and safety regulations. Flexibility in working hours is essential, as IVF processes are time-dependent and may require weekend work. Key responsibilities include following established IVF processes such as plate and media preparation, oocyte collection and maturation, semen processing, fertilization, embryo culture, evaluation, loading, and freezing. The technician will also assist in maintaining the integrity and traceability of data recording, media, and embryo production, as well as ensuring lab maintenance by keeping work areas sanitized and tracking inventory. The role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and the ability to inspire confidence and trust among colleagues.
