About The Position

Assumes total responsibility for Outpatient Treatment/IV Therapy. Coordinates total nursing care for the total population served. Uses the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and supervising individual patient care. Accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers in the implementation of care. Identifies patient’s needs and problems and works toward solutions with assistance to patients, patient’s family or significant other, physician and all hospital departments participating in patient care. Be able to work flexible hours. Assures licensure of ordering physician per policy. Administers medication and provides treatment accurately. Verbalizes understanding of need for patient confidentiality during phone conversations, faxing information and verbal communication between health care professionals. Clean and maintains equipment and supplied used in the treatment of patients. Evaluates and selects new products. Educates the staff on the use of these products. Assist manager in budget preparation and responsible for ordering of supplies. Maintains professional standards by participating in research, in-services, committees, PI projects, etc. Completes annual skills validation, maintains competencies and education per Department/Hospital policy. Shows knowledge of new trends and techniques in nursing. Maintain a safe and neat work area. Demonstrate a good working relationship with all Physicians and their respective offices. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current licensure with Ohio State Board of Nursing
  • At least one year of Medical-Surgical or comparable experience required
  • Physically/Emotionally able to handle irregular hours and stressful situations with minimal absences
  • The position requires coordination, corrected vision, hearing, the use of two hands, two feet, the ability to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting items up to 75 pounds
  • Verbal ability to express ideas clearly, and the ability to listen to others
  • The position requires tolerance of stressful work conditions
  • Due to the nature of the position, the RN may be exposed to various pathogens
  • There will be exposure to unpleasant patients
  • Must be able to handle emergency and crisis situations
  • The position requires the successful completion of a medical examination after offer of hire has been made
  • The position requires the employee to be free of all unlawful substances and alcohol
