About The Position

Operational Responsibilities Recognize and assure that problems are resolved through the proper hierarchy of the store and in accordance with company policy. Notify Supervisor immediately of any equipment failures or needs if necessary. Ensure a clean and orderly work area. Maintain adequate supplies for daily operations. Always follow quality assurance and procedures. Work with Assistant Manager on pulling drugs that need to be returned. Filling Responsibilities Ensure mixing schedule report is ready the day prior. Pull medications from shelf or stock. Read new RX’s to ensure accurate processing of prescription labels (i.e., patient name, doctor name, drug, directions, dosage, etc.). Identify proper medications and match them with script. Carefully measure and administer IV solutions, keeping track of inventory, count, pour or measure pharmaceuticals. Place products into proper container, affix RX label, and ensure all required fields are correct. Assist with processing prescriptions in an accurate and timely manner Verify patient information in computer system, ensuring personal and billing information is correct. Ensure prescriptions are filled in the order of urgency. Forward prescription and paperwork to Supervisor for review, as needed. Additional Responsibilities Communicate with Operations Manager, any drugs that are unavailable, but needed. Assist in other areas of the pharmacy when needed. Wear ID badge clearly identifying themselves as a pharmacy technician. Handle all additional responsibilities not listed above. Resolve questions regarding prescriptions and/or billing.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months previous Pharmacy Tech experience
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be licensed and in good standing with the California State Board of Pharmacy
  • Must demonstrate extreme confidentiality with all customer and company information.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be conscientious and provide a professional image.
  • Must have sound multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Must possess accurate and efficient typing and key boarding skills.
  • Maintain knowledge of insurance formulary and non-formulary medications.
