About The Position

Leidos is seeking an IT Service Management Engineer on the NOAA Cyber Security Center contract. This position will be part of the Security Engineering and Operations (SE&O) team. SE&O is responsible for infrastructure and security tools for the NOAA Cyber Security Center as well as supporting 5 Trusted Internet Connection Access Provider (TICAP) sites. This position is onsite in either Fairmount, WV or Boulder, CO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering or related discipline.
  • A desire to learn about cybersecurity and the engineering of tools to support cybersecurity operations.
  • Basic understanding of networking, virtualization, server and desktop maintenance.
  • Must be capable of analyzing data from multiple sources.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and must be capable of understanding, documenting, and communicating the status of requests and incident response.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen with current active DOD Secret or Top-Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Red Hat Linux and Windows systems, including server operations and maintenance.
  • Experience supporting a helpdesk.
  • Experience supporting a Security Operations Center as an analyst or engineer.
  • Experience with Implementation and maintenance of Next Generation Firewall Features (Application aware filtering, DNS, IPS, Web filtering, SSL Inspection).
  • Experience with automation tools such as Netbrain, Ansible, XSOAR, Fortimanager, Panorama.
  • Experience with managing SSL, and IPSEC VPN clients and site to site VPNs.
  • ZTNA experience preferred.
  • Experience with Fortinet products.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Products.

Responsibilities

  • Support Service Management processes and procedures to perform timely incident response and coordinate with functional engineering teams regarding service restoration for critical cybersecurity services.
  • Work independently to fulfill requests for approved services, including tracking of all request data, ensuring customer satisfaction, and tracking request status through closure.
  • Create incident tickets when reports of service outage or disruption are received, conduct triage, and where possible take action to restore service.
  • Work with functional engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of all tickets.
  • Work with functional engineering teams and the Information Systems Security Officer to improve processes and timeliness of incident response and request fulfilment as well as validate processes to meet required security guidelines.
