About The Position

Manages the activities of the Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) Systems Infrastructure and Networking Section. Manages operational support and upgrade planning of the server infrastructure, storage arrays, imaging/deployments, active directory configuration, Office 365, DNS, DHCP, backups, networking and all associated processes. Ensures all configurations are up to date, applications are properly monitored and that all policies and procedures are in place and enforced. Responsible for upgrade or replacement recommendations with a focus on critical systems required to maintain efficient court operations at all locations. This is a classified position that reports to the Assistant Director, Information Technology. This position performs duties under general supervision and directs the professional support staff assigned to the Systems Infrastructure and Networking Section of the Information Technology Services Division.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree with a major in computer science, management information systems, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in systems configuration and networking OR any equivalent combination of experience or education approved by Human Resources.
  • Previous supervisory experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the daily activities and performance of the Systems Infrastructure and Configuration section of the ITSD including priority and task management.
  • Provides project management oversight in support of systems infrastructure and configuration including financial and labor forecast data to support the planning, budgeting, and approval process.
  • Enforces applicable systems policies and procedures to ensure conformance to vendor equipment life cycles and security standards that are compliant with local court and state architectural, security, and access requirements.
  • Maintains all servers, both physical and virtual at all court locations with a focus on highly available configurations that are scalable and allow for failure mitigations.
  • Verifies server infrastructure is always up to date with vendor and third-party patching and desktops have management clients installed.
  • Maintains environment network components to latest firmware standards, configuration and vendor best practices.
  • Maintains court switching infrastructure and verifies all ports are configured to best practice.
  • Maintains court wireless infrastructure, compiles upgrade recommendations to maintain currency and support recommended operating system versions and new wireless standards.
  • Monitors network traffic to ensure appropriate use of court network services.
  • Oversees Cisco ISE configuration and maintenance for wired and wireless security.
  • Maintains and configures court’s firewall technology and ensures policy conformance and new features are implemented to bolster security posture.
  • Provides troubleshooting expertise when required to diagnose issues.
  • Manages and oversees virtual environments, upgrades and configurations.
  • Manages group policies and automations with continuous evaluation to ensure automation policies are updated based on best practices.
  • Manages and maintains court-wide active directory organizational structure ensuring policies are applied in a hierarchical method including development of security groups to apply permissions.
  • Manages all networked printers and deployments.
  • Manages and monitors all storage arrays for virtual machines, backups, disaster recovery, case management system, and development sites.
  • Oversees imaging and deployments for desktop and server configurations using configuration management tools.
  • Oversees Office 365 environment and manages licensing, configuration, mail flow, and the cloud environment.
  • Oversees DHCP and static IP address assignments, subnets and DNS private and public records.
  • Maintains all system configurations to local court or state standards and escalates any issues that require remediation.
  • Ensures all aspects of assigned projects and tasks are implemented on schedule, within budget and that proper technical documentation and work instructions are in place.
  • Oversees the implementation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures to support court-wide information technology standards.
  • Provides input to divisional planning processes, specifically in the area of systems configuration.
  • Ensures proper coordination and communication with customers and internal staff, and the Arizona Supreme Court Administrative staff to identify and resolve problems and concerns associated with systems configurations or associated policies.
