About The Position

The ITS Traffic Signal Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and traffic signal systems in Georgia. This role involves working collaboratively with a team of engineers and technicians to ensure that roadway traffic signaling systems are operational, thereby enhancing safety and efficiency for road users. The technician will also assist in traffic studies and design plans, troubleshoot equipment, and manage spare parts inventory.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent certification
• 6 years of traffic signal technician experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Valid US Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.

• Experience with GDOT traffic signal operations and systems

Responsibilities

• Installation, maintenance, and repair of ITS and traffic signal systems, including traffic signal cabinets, loop detection systems, and traffic signal electronics.
• Assisting in developing traffic studies and design plans for ITS infrastructure, traffic signals, signing, pavement marking, construction sequencing, and traffic control plans.
• Troubleshooting ITS and traffic signal equipment, making recommendations for repairs, and ensuring compliance with traffic control device regulations, standards, and specifications.
• Managing the maintenance of spare equipment and parts, including inventory management and documentation.
• Working with CCTV systems, dynamic message signs, travel time readers, vehicle detection systems, and fiber optics and wireless systems.
• Travel to site locations throughout Georgia.
