About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an ITS/Traffic Engineer to join our NC ITS/Traffic Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Raleigh, NC. AtkinsRéalis is one of the world’s most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies. AtkinsRéalis has been providing infrastructure planning, engineering, construction, environmental consulting, urban planning, architecture, and program management services to public and private clients across the United States for more than 50 years. AtkinsRéalis has the depth and breadth of expertise to respond to the most technically challenging and time-critical infrastructure projects and the urgent transition to a low-carbon economy.

Requirements

  • Completion of Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university.
  • Minimal experience is required with a Bachelor's Degree; no experience required with a Master's degree.
  • Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
  • Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred).
  • Proficient interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Capability to develop technical writings and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop plans and drawings related to ITS and Traffic design.
  • Organize and conduct ITS and Traffic engineering investigations, planning, and analysis.
  • Outline and prepare technical reports of sections of more complex reports.
  • Research feasibility of alternative design approaches and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to the development of specifications and permit applications.
  • Prepare preliminary man-hour, cost and material quantity estimates.
  • Participate in quality control checks and maintain quality standards.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines as required.
  • Perform field observations of construction.
