About The Position

The ePlus Information Technology Services (ITS) Department has a pipeline of information technology implementation, and operations and maintenance delivery initiatives requiring project, program, and portfolio management coordination, support, and leadership. The Project Manager will be accountable for full lifecycle delivery of IT-related projects from inception to closure. Your Impact The essential functions of this position include: Lead complex project/program inception through closure by managing scope, schedule, resources, and cost, and ensuring acceptable quality. Secure the executive business sponsor and stakeholders’ commitment for the necessary resources required to successfully execute and deliver the projects. Report to executive sponsors and stakeholders on project progress including milestones, risks, impediments, blockers, and actual and forecasted costs. Serve as the central point of contact for all project communications. Oversee, train, assist, and develop the project team. Develop lasting relationships with internal personnel to increase additional opportunities and satisfaction. Apply ePlus methodology effectively and enforce project standards. Build project charters and management plans, when required, based on project size and complexity. Create and maintain the project plans and budgets to ensure that they contain projects, tasks, deliverables, milestones, effort, and costs, and make recommendations for revisions, when necessary. Identify dependencies on other corporate projects and vice versa and contact the assigned sponsors and project managers to share information. Organize project milestones and manage the production of key deliverables according to the milestones. Determine project risks, their impacts, and costs, and define and implement risk mitigation strategies. Monitor, analyze and manage the resolution of project issues and action items. Assign tasks to designated team members and stakeholders to be completed within designated times. Track progress of project(s) and tasks – estimate start, end and effort, and actual start, end, and effort. Ensure that quality reviews, approval of deliverables, appropriate stage gates take place. Assess and report status and execution of project tasks, track project deviations, and ensure that appropriate approval is sought and provided. Define and ensure that team members understand roles/responsibilities and expectations. Release project team members of project obligations when their project role concludes. Schedule and attend appropriate project team meetings and oversee facilitation, recording of minutes, action items, and decisions, and follow-up on action items. Foster an environment of creativity, openness, collaboration, recognition, and morale among team members and stakeholders. Collect, maintain, share, and turn over lessons learned, project-related assets, and approach. Schedule, attend, and participate in the project’s steering committee meetings. Organize and oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) and rollout of new technology. Develop and execute transition plans to ensure orderly transition to operations. Work with the Project, Program and Portfolio Management Office (P3MO) to ensure project management activities align with P3MO standards. Monitor fulfillment of vendor and implementation partner contract requirements to ensure quality and timeliness of services/deliverables and follow up with vendors regarding their invoices and ePlus payments, as necessary. Perform other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business administration, or equivalent; Master’s degree a plus; or equivalent work experience.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification.
  • 5+ years’ experience in IT delivery project management that included leading, managing, and delivering at least two full-life cycle, IT software package implementation, software development, operations & maintenance enhancement, or technology refresh and rollout projects using Agile, Hybrid or Waterfall, or other delivery approaches.
  • Cross-functional team building and management experience in working with Solutions Architecture, Information Security, Infrastructure & Operations, Product Development & Management, and business functional areas when delivering projects.
  • Sourcing, evaluating, selecting, and contractually managing vendors and contractors.
  • Partnering with internal professional services and business development teams to present to and interact with vendors and external customers related to solution deployment projects.
