As a participant in the Co-op/Intern Professional Development Program, you will cultivate professional skills and perform professional-level work. This internship is not just about sitting in meetings and shadowing; you will actively contribute and perform the same work as other FirstEnergy employees on your team. You will receive on-the-job training and challenging assignments, and you will be assigned a Supervisor, a Coach/Mentor, and a dedicated IT Intern Program Coordinator to help you maximize your learning and growth throughout your internship. The Developer / Systems Analyst role is critical to the successful use of the technology and software systems at FirstEnergy. In this position, you will be responsible for configuring, fully utilizing, and securing applications, as well as providing operational support to keep the system running smoothly. You will need to have a passion for technology and enjoy the challenge of troubleshooting issues. Additionally, you will learn the complex business processes of the systems you support and collaborate effectively with both IT and business units. Your responsibilities will include supporting the application architecture, ensuring efficient operation of application server processes, maintaining application security, performing software installation and patching, identifying automation opportunities, troubleshooting applications, creating and maintaining system documentation, analyzing requirements, and developing data queries and reporting solutions. This internship is a full-time, paid opportunity spanning 14 weeks, and you must be actively enrolled in an accredited university or college.
