About The Position

General Summary: The Low Voltage Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and repair of low-voltage systems, including structured cabling for data networks, audio/visual setups, and related infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring reliable, high-quality performance of these systems to support business operations.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED, with 1-year related experience.
  • Working knowledge of structured cabling systems, termination techniques, AV equipment installation, and PoE technology.
  • Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, operating systems, or related software.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to operate a bucket truck.

Responsibilities

  • Install, run, terminate, and test Ethernet (Cat5e/Cat6) cables, audio wiring, coaxial cables, and other low-voltage cabling for data, voice, AV, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Patch in data drops, including terminating jacks, mounting faceplates, and connecting to patch panels or switches.
  • Mount and install audio speakers, internal/external digital televisions/displays, and associated mounting hardware in retail, office, or commercial environments.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with cabling, connections, AV equipment, and low-voltage systems to maintain high reliability and minimal downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, testing, and certification of installed cabling and systems using appropriate tools and testers.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, floor plans, and technical diagrams.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and other departments to address cross functional requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Research, recommend and implement new technologies.
