About The Position

The IT Tech, Intermediate - PC Systems position at UVA Medical Center involves performing general maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and repairing computer systems and peripherals throughout the Health System. The role requires basic to advanced PC troubleshooting and problem resolution, with the expectation to resolve most problems, even of significant complexity, with minimal or no assistance. The technician will assist less senior techs with troubleshooting and problem resolution. The position emphasizes the importance of timely and quality repairs, with 80% of trouble calls resolved within 8 business hours of assignment. If issues cannot be resolved within this timeframe, they are escalated to management. The technician is also responsible for keeping the Remedy system updated with problem tickets, asset information, and other relevant data encountered during maintenance and repair duties. Additionally, maintaining and enhancing knowledge of the Health System's desktop environment, policies, procedures, and initiatives is crucial. Effective communication with customers and computing staff is essential, as is safe driving to prevent injuries or damage during travel to various locations for meetings and programs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Valid Virginia Driver's License may be required.
