About The Position

The IT Systems Engineer is a skilled and motivated technology professional responsible for supporting the organization’s IT infrastructure and core technology systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of enterprise systems that support daily business operations. The IT Systems Engineer will design, implement, maintain, and support critical IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and enterprise systems. Working as part of the technology team, this role troubleshoots issues, implements system improvements, and helps maintain a stable and secure technology environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional with strong problem-solving skills who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role managing and supporting IT infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, including installation, configuration, and administration. Cyber management experience.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VDI).
  • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and storage solutions.
  • Experience with scripting languages for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Solid understanding of security best practices and principles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Server+).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure).
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
  • Experience with database administration (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Domain management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, configure, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers (physical and virtual), storage systems, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and enterprise applications.
  • Ensure the stability, performance, and security of IT systems through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and optimization while using the Jira system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-related issues, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including configuration standards, operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
  • Administer and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with security policies. Enforce and practice the GITC framework to stay audit compliant.
  • Collaborate with network engineers, security teams, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration and operation of all IT components.
  • Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments.
  • Monitor system capacity and plan for future infrastructure needs. Implement and maintain security best practices to protect systems and data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
  • Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) to improve efficiency.
  • Evaluate new technologies and provide recommendations for infrastructure improvements.
  • Maintain assets and hardware and laptop deployments.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other IT staff as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as required.
