We are looking for highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic individuals to join and contribute significantly to the successful implementation and enablement of this journey for our Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Team (MFC). This role is for a Classified IT Systems Engineer with a focus on supporting Windows & Linux systems for the LRASM (Long Range Anti-Ship Missile) program. Candidates are not expected to have all the desired skills but should be passionate in learning many of the skills listed.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Ability to maintain a security clearance, and customers' acceptance
  • Must possess or be able to obtain within 6 months of start date a valid IAT Level II or III DoD Approved 8140 (DoD 8570) certification such as Security+, in good standing
  • Knowledge and experience with Linux distributions and environments
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows
  • Scripting ability (yaml, powershell, bash, shell)
  • Experience with VS code or Visual Studios
  • Demonstrated experience effectively performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work through technical, project, operational, and resource challenges
  • Proven business acumen to manage multiple assignments and projects with the ability to balance technical requirements with business needs and affordability
  • Demonstrated collaboration, including interpersonal and teaming skills

Nice To Haves

  • Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance (investigation within the past 5 years)
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container technologies such as Docker, AppTainer, and Podman
  • Experience building and/or working with hypervisors and in virtual environments, such as VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V, etc.
  • Experience with windows active directory
  • Experience with layer 2 and layer 3 networking concepts
  • Experience with storage appliances
  • Experience with SELinux
  • Knowledge and experience implementing technical requirements on multiple operating systems for NISPOM Chapter-8, JAFAN, JSIG, DoD RMF, and other protection level caveats

Responsibilities

  • System administration of Windows and Linux systems
  • Coordinate and complete system upgrades and patching for Windows and Linux systems
  • Maintain system cyber compliance
  • Perform guidance and management for hardware, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance on multiple architectures
  • Ensure the integrity and availability of applications as well as coordinate new application installations, upgrades, and customer support in classified areas
  • Responsible for implementing effective backup/recovery, resource accounting, and auditing procedures
  • Full-time onsite role, working the majority of the day in closed areas
