POSITION SUMMARY Leads administration and support of enterprise IT infrastructure with emphasis on Azure cloud and VMware environments. Oversees Azure installs, decommissions, and serves as primary point of contact for cloud operations. Provides advanced VMware server support and acts as SME for virtualization. Performs system design, configuration, and troubleshooting; develops automation using PowerShell. Contributes to Disaster Recovery planning, backup architecture, and DMZ design; applies working knowledge of Linux in hybrid environments. Ensures uptime, performance, and security across datacenter and cloud systems. This position is the third and highest level of the Systems Engineer series.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of progressively responsible technical systems experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or related field

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced experience configuring and managing Microsoft Azure servers, including storage and network resources
  • Experience in the lifecycle management of various Azure modules and features.
  • Advanced expertise with VMware virtualization technologies
  • Advanced experience with enterprise backup solutions (preferably Rubrik), including configuration, monitoring, managing, and recovery operations.
  • Experience developing automation scripts using PowerShell to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure, scalable solutions for Azure cloud and VMware environments; lead Azure installs, decommissions, and lifecycle management.
  • Provide advanced support for virtualized infrastructure, including VMware Horizon (Omnissa) VDI, Office 365 services, and related IaaS components.
  • Manage and optimize enterprise storage systems and Cisco UCS chassis-based infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Network Operations to configure and support server environments within a Cisco ACI enterprise deployment.
  • Develop automation scripts using PowerShell to streamline deployments and operational tasks.
  • Contribute to Disaster Recovery planning and design, backup architecture, and DMZ design to ensure resilience and security.
  • Uses working knowledge of Linux to assist various departments with platform integration
  • Oversee data center operations including power, racking, cabling, and physical security; ensure compliance with uptime and change control standards.
  • Participate in strategic planning and implementation of new technologies and infrastructure projects to meet organizational growth and continuity needs.
  • Provide advanced consulting to internal departments on computing solutions and client-focused technology projects; serve as team lead for technical staff.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members via face-to-face, video, and phone; provide on-call support during evenings and weekends as required.
