About The Position

IT SYSTEMS ENGINEER, DEV OPS SpaceX is looking for an IT Systems Engineer with a focus on DevOps to join our growing team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our systems. This employee will be a member of the Information Technology IT Applications  team. The ideal candidate will be flexible and flourish in a fast-paced and challenging environment.  He or she should be a self-starter, self-motivator and possess ingenuity to excel at this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems with 3+ years’ experience in DevOps, SRE, or related role, OR 7+ years' experience in DevOps, SRE, or related role.
  • Experience with Linux servers in physical, virtual, or containerized environment.
  • Experience with administering code hosting and collaboration tools (Bitbucket, Github, GitLab) and CI tools (Bamboo, Jenkins).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with administering and troubleshooting issues with code hosting and collaboration tools (Bitbucket, Github, GitLab) and CI tools (Bamboo, Jenkins).
  • Experience in automated monitoring tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, etc).
  • Experience with scripting using Bash, Python, Groovy, etc.
  • Proficiency with containerized applications using Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with automated deployments using Ansible, Chef, or other similar tools.
  • Experience with version control and release management concepts (Git, SVN, Bitbucket).
  • Flexibility and ability to flourish in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • A self-starter with excellent motivation and ingenuity.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automate deployment and monitoring processes to improve system reliability.
  • Implement best practices across the environment and deployments.
  • Collaborate closely with developers and other software engineering teams to streamline code integration and development.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resources across hundreds of servers.
  • Maintain and enhance logging, monitoring, and alerting systems with tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Influx, or other similar tools.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies are in place and are practiced on a normal cadence.
  • Administer CI/CD applications and code repository applications.
  • Propose and enforce best practices when it comes to building and releasing code.
  • Work closely with developers and other software engineering teams.
  • Implement automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines).
