About The Position

The IT Systems Analyst acts as a local expert in IT operations, facilitating communication and collaboration between the US division and the Japan-based headquarters team. This role supports end users, coordinates IT activities between regions, and ensures that systems, software, and IT assets align with both local business needs and global standards. The analyst will leverage SAP knowledge alongside broader IT experience to document requirements, support system enhancements, and manage software updates in a centralized environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones
  • Experience supporting end users and coordinating IT activities in a global or multi-region environment
  • Ability to track assets, projects, and system changes while working within a centralized IT management structure
  • Emphasis on advisory, coordination, and documentation responsibilities rather than hands-on system configuration
  • 5+ years of overall IT experience
  • 2+ years of experience working with SAP ERP systems
  • Experience tracking IT assets, coordinating system changes, and supporting software rollouts in a corporate environment

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the primary liaison between US end users and Japan-based HQ, translating business and IT needs into clear specifications, escalating issues, and ensuring effective resolution of support tickets, system changes, or enhancements.
  • Analyzing, documenting, and maintaining US-specific business and IT processes, including writing detailed specifications for system changes, enhancements, or integrations.
  • Coordinating IT initiatives between the US and HQ teams, including tracking project progress, monitoring timelines, supporting testing phases, and communicating status updates to stakeholders.
  • Tracking and maintaining IT assets, ensuring accurate inventory records and supporting lifecycle management activities in coordination with internal teams.
  • Providing day-to-day support to end users, troubleshooting system and software issues, delivering training, and facilitating knowledge transfer to minimize business disruption.
  • Supporting the rollout of software updates, patches, and HQ-led system changes, ensuring proper communication, testing, and adoption within the US organization.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess the impact of system updates, upgrades, or process changes on local operations and recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Participating in workshops, requirements-gathering sessions, and user acceptance testing to validate solutions meet US business and IT requirements.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation related to processes, system changes, IT assets, and system usage to support audits, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
