  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for resort systems and hardware, including training, documentation, and on call or weekend support as needed
  • Provide Tier 2 support, coordinate system implementations, and act as the local subject matter expert with the ENT Systems team
  • Maintain IT security and compliance through access controls, patching, monitoring, and incident response to protect systems and data
  • Manage backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity while monitoring and optimizing system performance, collaborating with vendors and enterprise teams as needed
  • Standard System Specialist support role (Tier 1 & Tier 2 end-user support, troubleshooting)
  • Managing added system implementations (installation, configuration, coordination with departments)
  • Participation in local and enterprise-wide IT projects
  • Monitor and correct system performance issues (including proactive optimization)
  • Backup, recovery, and continuity planning
  • Create/Update documentation used by all staff
  • Plan/Manage Change Management when required
  • Mentoring and cross-training of System Specialists
  • Security, compliance, and data protection (patching, monitoring, account management, incident response)
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an IT Systems administration or IT related position
  • Expert knowledge of Windows and Linux based operating systems
  • Expert knowledge of computers, network and server hardware, and related peripherals
  • Hands on experience with networking principles, protocols, and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting to streamline administrative tasks and improve efficiency
  • Experience with high availability environments, including clustering, load balancing, and failover strategies to ensure system reliability
  • Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) solutions for secure deployment, monitoring, and support of smartphones, tablets, and laptops
  • Ability to configure and manage device lockdown and provisioning packages to enforce security standards and streamline onboarding
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and business continuity processes, including backups, replication, and recovery testing
  • Competence in monitoring and reporting on system/workstation/software inventories, patch compliance, hardware performance, and refresh cycles
  • Understanding of virtualization platforms and cloud services integration to support scalable infrastructure
  • Strong logical and analytical thinking with the ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous requests in optimal order
  • Effective problem solving under pressure, with flexibility to adjust focus quickly when priorities change
  • Resourcefulness in overcoming roadblocks and finding practical solutions
  • Effective oral and written communication skills for collaboration with staff, management, and external partners
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with guests, staff, management, subordinates, and co workers
  • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to safety awareness
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team

  • Must have valid driver’s license without limitations or restrictions and meet company’s insurability standards

  • Must be able to operate a snowmobile and successfully complete annual snowmobile training

  • Communicate clearly in English, both verbal / non-verbal, and written
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company’s Service Excellence standards
  • Must be minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must ski or snowboard at minimum intermediate level
  • Must work in cramped spaces: under desks, behind computer equipment, and in wiring closets
  • Must work on ladders, roofs, ceilings, and other high locations
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 40 lbs. (computers, monitors, printers, etc.) on a regular basis
  • Use various hand tools such as screwdrivers, cable crimpers, etc.
  • Expected to safely operate company vehicle
  • CompTIA Server+
  • VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Microsoft PowerShell / Automation coursework for scripting and task automation
  • Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity training (vendor‑specific or general)
