We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our Engineering department at PracticeTek. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining and optimizing the infrastructure that powers our SaaS platform for thousands of healthcare providers. You’ll ensure reliability, security, and compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support innovation and scalability across the organization. Support the internal workforce by managing and maintaining Microsoft systems and tools, including Microsoft 365, Teams, and Azure AD, ensuring seamless collaboration and productivity. Automate routine workflows and administrative processes to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Partner with external technology vendors and service providers to ensure smooth integration, support, and performance of business-critical systems.

  • Manage, monitor, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
  • Implement and maintain system observability, monitoring, and alerting tools to ensure proactive issue detection and resolution.
  • Oversee user access, identity management, and compliance with regulatory standards including HIPAA and PCI.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Security teams to support new initiatives and deployments.
  • Maintain system backups, disaster recovery procedures, and incident response readiness.
  • Ensure cost-efficient infrastructure usage by monitoring and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Troubleshoot system and network issues, escalating when necessary to minimize downtime.
  • Contribute to PracticeTek’s cybersecurity posture by implementing security best practices, monitoring potential threats, and participating in security audits and remediation efforts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role in a cloud-based environment.
  • Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Windows server administration, networking, and security best practices.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, CloudWatch).
  • Experience responding to SOC alerts, Microsoft Defender incidents, and using SIEM tooling
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, SOC2) and implementation of security controls.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
