Technology Support Services (TSS) is the Information Technology unit of the Shoreline College, which supports the technology infrastructure and support needs of the entire organization's business and academic functions. TSS' overall responsibilities include but are not limited to the network and networking infrastructure, desktop and portable device support, database and application development, email and web-based services, data and telecommunications systems, IT security, and IT related policies.

  • Work closely with campus user constituency groups and stakeholders to identify device and application needs to ensure timely configuration, deployment, and management of instructional classrooms, computing labs, open space, rental space, and general college functional business areas.
  • Utilize device management platforms (e.g. Intune, JAMF, and Azure Admin) to ensure the accurate and effective configuration, deployment, and management of devices (e.g. Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android) and applications in adherence to campus lifecycle management processes.
  • Provide in-depth technical guidance and training to improve support technicians' ability to identify and resolve emergent or complex issues.
  • Work closely with leadership, user constituency groups, and stakeholders to develop and implement cybersecurity initiatives using strategic (i.e. Governance, Compliance) and security (e.g. NIST, CIS) frameworks to continuously enhance the infrastructure and systems security posture, promote user awareness, and alignment with institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with affiliated campus support groups and technology support staff to develop, document, and maintain functional and operational standardized procedures.
  • Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field OR equivalent experience in technology environment directly related to position.
  • Proven proficiency across the Microsoft ecosystem (e.g., Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Azure, M365) in managing and optimizing infrastructure for enterprise or educational institutions.
  • Knowledge of Windows Desktop and Server operating systems, Apple macOS and iOS, Android OS.
  • Knowledge of ADDS, GP, DNS, DHCP, CA.
  • Knowledge of Desktop and Server Virtualization, Failover Clusters, DAS/NAS, Networking Fundamentals, VLANS, Routing, Firewalls.
  • Knowledge of Backup and disaster recovery solutions, Data Retention.
  • Knowledge of Identity and access management (IAM), Resource Management, Multifactor Authentication, and Conditional Access policies, Enterprise Application/Registrations.
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity fundamentals including threat modeling, risk assessments, various security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls), patch management, endpoint detection and response, vulnerability remediation, role-based access control (RBAC), etc.
  • Knowledge of Endpoint management, protection, and patch management tools (e.g., Microsoft Defender, JAMF, Intune).
  • Knowledge of Management of Cloud based solutions, including but not limited to Azure and AWS.
  • Knowledge of Security best practices for system hardening and vulnerability management.
  • Knowledge of Compliance frameworks (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA, NIST) in educational or enterprise settings.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell Scripting, Python, and macOS shell Scripting.
  • Knowledge of Desktop and endpoint lifecycle management for both Windows and Apple devices, including deployment, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Salary Range: $92,749 (Step A) - $121,703 (Step L) per year, depending on experience.
  • Step M at $124,740 available for state employees who have been on Step L for 6 years.
  • Salary is set by WA Office of Financial Management and is not negotiable.
