About The Position
The IT Support Specialist in Broadcast Operations will collaborate with the IT Manager and Broadcast Operations teams to maintain and support the station's technical infrastructure. This role involves providing timely technical support to a fast-paced, high-demand newsroom environment, both in-person and remotely. The specialist will set up, image, and deploy new workstations with standardized configurations and software, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktop systems, printers, mobile devices, and network connectivity, and perform regular updates, patch management, and preventative maintenance for Windows, Mac, and Linux systems. Additionally, the specialist will support newsroom technology including editorial systems, media servers, control room equipment, and file-based workflows, maintain accurate documentation for IT systems, and recommend improvements to IT workflows and operational processes. The role also includes managing office and server room cabling, hardware installations, and equipment moves, providing support for multifunction devices, and assisting in the setup and deployment of switches, routers, and firewalls.
