About The Position

The IT Support role works under the direct supervision of the department Director and/or permanent IT staff to help install, setup, and test hardware and software needed to support the staff, vendors, and visitors to the LA County Fair. Other work may be assigned to assist the IT department as needed.

Requirements

  • Must have general hardware and software experience and a working knowledge of networking concepts and equipment
  • Must have analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with limited supervision
  • Requires organizational skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions, such as heat and cold
  • Must be able to move around Fairplex grounds
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft products, TCP/IP and networking protocols a major plus

Responsibilities

  • Assists with setup and deployment of network equipment, computers, camera systems and other related software and hardware
  • Assists users with software, hardware, and networking needs
  • Assists in maintaining software, hardware, and networking equipment
  • Helps the IT department prepare for and support the annual LA County Fair by completing assigned tasks or projects
  • Other duties as assigned
