About The Position

ATEK Metal Technologies is looking for a full-time IT Support Technician to join our team onsite in New Hampton. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where every day brings something new. Requirements

  • An associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • CompTIA A+ certification—or willingness to earn it within 6 months
  • A knack for solving problems and staying calm when technology gets quirky
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic networking knowledge + Windows and Microsoft Office familiarity
  • Ability to work independently and stay organized
  • Willingness to participate in training and become certified in the operation of forklift, scissor-lift, and boom lifts

Nice To Haves

  • IT helpdesk or internship experience
  • Exposure to scripting or programming (Python, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems or manufacturing environments
  • Basic troubleshooting commands and networking protocols

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot hardware, network, and basic software issues, plus keep computers, printers, scanners, and peripherals up and running
  • Help employees get started—user setup, access, and password resets
  • Assist with LAN and Wi-Fi support across the facility
  • Work with Corporate IT and external partners when issues need escalation
  • Install software updates and maintain IT hardware inventory
  • Work with facility maintenance to run network cabling and install other network infrastructure
  • Support projects that may include light scripting or automation
  • Learn and support low-code platforms like Glide and Make.com
  • Use tools like Visio to update network diagrams and infrastructure layouts
