IT Support Technician I ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The IT Help Desk is the central point of contact for all IT related incidents and service requests. The role of the IT Support Technician is to provide front line support for all staff. The IT Support Technician is responsible for resolving support requests as well as meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands. The desktop support technician is required to track all support requests through a ticketing system and track all resolutions to issues. IT Support staff work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment which provides services over the phone, through e-mail, and in person.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of building and configuring PCs and laptops, loading software, and conducting audits for unlicensed software
  • Minimum 1-year experience or education equivalent
  • Must be a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Network cabling experience is considered a plus
  • Knowledge of JIRA Service Desk or a similar ticketing system a plus

Responsibilities

  • Complete work orders such as: Installing equipment Connecting and moving devices Installing disk drives, memory and other hardware components Software installations
  • Install Windows OS on new computers
  • Sets up technology for new hires
  • Provide desktop, mobile device, phone and email usage support and training to new users
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
  • Adhere to policies for access control and security administration, including password troubleshooting and password resets
  • Assemble, install, configure and test computer equipment
  • Install and configure new IT equipment
  • Resolve incidents and upgrade different types of software and hardware
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Able to work in a team as well as independently
  • Experienced in providing professional and courteous customer service
