Job Summary We are seeking a part-time, entry-level IT Support Technician to provide on-site desktop and basic infrastructure support for our Breckenridge, TX location. This role works closely with a third-party remote helpdesk and focuses on resolving escalated tickets that require physical presence, hands-on troubleshooting, or local coordination. This position is ideal for someone beginning an IT career who wants practical experience while maintaining a reduced weekly schedule. It is well-suited for candidates looking to build foundational IT skills with the potential for future expansion of hours or advancement into full-time IT roles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic understanding of Windows-based computers and common office software
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently on-site with guidance from a remote helpdesk
  • Comfortable following documented procedures and escalation paths
  • Reliable transportation to the Breckenridge location

Nice To Haves

  • Prior helpdesk, desktop support, or technical internship experience
  • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems
  • Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • CompTIA A+ or similar entry-level certification

Responsibilities

  • Respond to escalated IT tickets from a third-party remote helpdesk during scheduled on-site days
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and peripherals
  • Assist users with basic software issues (Windows OS, Microsoft 365, browsers, standard business applications)
  • Perform workstation setup, moves, adds, and changes for new hires and existing staff
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for the remote helpdesk and IT leadership
  • Perform tasks that cannot be completed remotely, including hardware swaps, cable checks, and power resets
  • Document findings and resolutions clearly in the ticketing system
  • Escalate unresolved or complex issues to the appropriate IT team or vendor
  • Image and deploy PCs and laptops according to company standards
  • Replace common hardware components (keyboards, mice, monitors, docks)
  • Assist with IT asset inventory tracking and equipment organization
  • Coordinate warranty repairs and vendor service calls as needed
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting (checking cables, switch ports, and Wi-Fi connectivity)
  • Assist with printer, copier, and scanner issues
  • Support basic conference room and A/V setups
