About The Position

We are currently seeking an Information Technology Support Specialist Tier 1 for our internal IT department. This is a hybrid-based position working from our Boulder, CO office, typically 2 days a week. The day-to-day work will vary with an emphasis on end user support and Tier 1 troubleshooting. This role offers future opportunities to manage tasks and projects, collaborate with a diverse group of colleagues and staff, communicate with clients and vendors, and training to advance your IT skills and career. This position may offer in-office, remote, or hybrid opportunities based on the candidate’s location and the needs of the organization.

Requirements

  • Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, information technology, computer science, or a similar field.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT Service Desk experience and systems support
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting Windows 10/11 systems and peripherals/printers
  • Experience working in Active Directory, Microsoft 365/Entra ID, and Exchange
  • Intermediate understanding of networking
  • Pertinent IT certifications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A desire to grow both intellectually and professionally
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers

Responsibilities

  • Configures Windows computer setups
  • Manages warranty support
  • Assists with asset recovery
  • Communicates with end users on progress of computer replacements
  • Assists end users with authentication and account requests
  • Updates software, security patches, and drivers
  • Manages the shipping and receiving of IT equipment
  • Updates standard operating procedures
  • Manages asset tracking system and asset inventory
  • Provides Tier 1 technical support and services for end users
  • Escalation of complex issues to higher-level support members
  • Provides support with hardware, software, and peripheral issues
  • Assists with the IT aspect of onboarding new hires
  • Provides support with IT procurement
  • Performs other duties as assigned
