About The Position

The IT Support & Security Compliance Specialist reports directly to the Manager of IT Infrastructure & User Support. This role is responsible for providing technical support while ensuring IT security policies and compliance standards are upheld across the organization. The specialist will assist in security-related initiatives, conduct audits, manage access controls, and support users with security best practices. Additionally, they will help maintain IT documentation, perform risk assessments, and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT security measures. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to cybersecurity are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • AAS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support, security compliance, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of IT security principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.).
  • Experience with endpoint security, access controls, vulnerability management, and security incident response.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, IT asset management, and security auditing tools.
  • Understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, and basic network security configurations.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools, access management, and IT compliance audits.
  • Proven ability to work with users at all levels and communicate IT security concepts effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while ensuring security compliance is maintained.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, depending on work tasks.
  • Must be able to sit, balance, climb, stand, bend, squat, kneel, turn, crouch, stoop, and perform other physical activities as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including moving and setting up IT equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to varying temperatures, loud environments, and operational equipment such as printers and computers.
  • Frequent use of a computer screen and repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and mouse use.
  • Frequent exposure to varying temperatures, loud noises, heavy machinery, fumes, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, electrical, chemicals, and vibrations.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks involving heavy machinery, electrical systems, and chemical supplies (under safe working conditions).
  • Must be able to work irregular or extended hours, including weekends and nights, when necessary to meet deadlines or provide support.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, or ITIL are a plus.
  • Basic scripting or automation knowledge (PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
  • Experience with phishing simulations, user training, and IT policy enforcement is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 IT support, ensuring security best practices are followed.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining IT security policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Conduct regular testing, assessing, and evaluating the effectiveness of security measures.
  • Support access control management, including user account provisioning and deactivation.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, escalating as necessary.
  • Assist with security awareness training for employees, including phishing simulations and compliance education.
  • Conduct internal IT security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to IT security (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
  • Maintain IT documentation, including security policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Work with IT teams to ensure secure system configurations, software updates, and patch management.
  • Assist with IT asset tracking and inventory management, ensuring proper security measures are in place.
  • Perform cable management and hardware setup, following IT security guidelines.
  • Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines or respond to security incidents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide backup support as needed to second site located in Fort Worth, TX.
