About the position

Carolina Cabin Rentals is seeking a dedicated IT Support Technician with a passion for technology and customer service to join our team. In this role, you will provide technical support to our employees and ensure that our vacation rental properties are equipped with reliable and efficient IT solutions. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting and maintaining property-related technologies such as Wi-Fi networks, audio/video systems, smart locks, and smart home devices. This position is perfect for a hands-on professional who enjoys solving technical challenges and enhancing the guest experience through innovative technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support to employees, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Respond to helpdesk tickets in a timely manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations, printers, and other office IT equipment.
  • Assist with the setup and deployment of new IT equipment and software, including employee onboarding.
  • Document and track support requests, solutions, and ongoing issues in the helpdesk system.
  • Provide basic training and support to employees on IT systems and tools.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Wi-Fi networks in vacation rental properties, ensuring reliable connectivity for guests and staff.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with property-related IT equipment, including routers, access points, and network cabling.
  • Support and maintain audio/video systems in rental properties, including TVs, sound systems, streaming devices, and conference setups.
  • Install and manage smart locks, ensuring secure and efficient access for guests and maintenance staff.
  • Set up and troubleshoot smart home technology, including lighting, thermostats, and security cameras.
  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance of property technology systems to prevent issues and ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with property management and maintenance teams to address any technology-related needs or upgrades.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in property technology and smart home devices, recommending improvements to enhance the guest experience.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in IT support, preferably in a hospitality or property management setting.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and supporting Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Experience with networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi configuration.
  • Familiarity with smart home technology, including devices like smart locks, thermostats, and security systems.
  • Basic knowledge of audio/video systems and related hardware.
  • Experience with helpdesk ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk, Jira) is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with property-related technology, including Wi-Fi networks, AV systems, and smart home devices.
