About The Position

The IT Support role at Volt Workforce Solutions involves providing technical assistance and support for software installation, troubleshooting, and repair of computer systems. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with multiple operating systems, scripting, programming languages, and networking preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ certification highly preferred, required within the first year.
  • General knowledge of Linux and Windows Operating Systems preferred.
  • CCNA certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production work environment preferred.
  • Data Center experience preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical knowledge to analyze problems and implement repairs or corrective actions.
  • Ability to lift servers and appliances, and maintain house cleaning best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Software troubleshooting skills desirable but not required.
  • Additional software experience and professional certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, test, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, including small-to-mid-size compute and storage appliances, enterprise servers, and components.
  • Plan and perform work requiring knowledge of system assembly and testing, writing specifications, and principles of operation.
  • Start up and shut down equipment in accordance with safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Advise operators on safe operation procedures for electrical/electronic systems and participate in training of technical-level employees.
  • Perform platform confidence and extended burn-in tests on computer equipment using automated scripting.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and maintain performance and maintenance records for equipment.
  • Perform system imaging and software installation/upgrades.
  • Communicate and escalate issues with management regarding customer orders.
  • Ensure asset tagging and management fidelity.
  • Unpack, pack, and kit hardware and components as required.
  • Independently acquire additional skills to maintain technical competencies.
