About The Position

Responsibilities include: Provide support for the IT Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality solutions associated with the Life Science, Electronics, and Healthcare businesses; Work on prioritized incidents, troubleshooting, perform system enhancements, support projects and deployments; Provide support to application upgrades and performance testing; Understand and implement methodology, design, specifications, programming, delivery, monitoring, and support standards; Develop, maintain, and support applications in the Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality domains; Design, develop, test, implement, and troubleshoot mapping and workflows for all Merck businesses; Provide technical leadership and coordination in the design, development and implementation of complex industrial applications, databases, and information systems meeting customer requirements and team standards; Troubleshoot and support complex technical and functional issues/bugs with capacity to identify manufacturing segments that might be impacting the process; Engage and interface directly with solution vendors for product support/questions and troubleshooting required to identify a solution; Provide an established level of service and support to ensure minimal business disruption; Understand and analyze business requirements including multiple systems and equipment; Lead the effort to implement best practices and maintain consistency in designs across different clusters to improve efficiency; Perform risk management plan, anticipate problems, address the issues, controls, and expenditures within program budget; and Prepare interim and completion program or project reports, addressing financial management, leadership, and value engineering aspects. Communicate project status and support project managers. Salary Range: one hundred thirty-seven thousand six hundred eighty-eight dollars per year to one hundred fifty-seven thousand six hundred eighty-eight dollars per year. Telecommuting is an option.

Requirements

  • Employer requires candidate to have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a closely related field and six (6) years of progressively more responsible work experience in an occupation involving IT application development in a large corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SDLC methodology, design, specifications, programming, delivery, monitoring, and support standards gained through six (6) years of work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to provide support for application upgrades and performance testing gained through six (6) years of work experience
  • Demonstrated ability providing technical leadership and coordination in the design, development and implementation of complex industrial applications, databases, and information systems, meeting customer requirements and team standards gained through four (4) years of work experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting and supporting resolution of complex technical and functional issues/bugs, as well as ability to identify manufacturing segments that might be impacting the process gained through five (5) years of work experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Agile systems and understanding of the change management processes and risk-based approach for validation gained through five (5) years of work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and interface directly with solution vendors for product support/questions and troubleshooting required to identify a solution gained through two (2) years of work experience
