We are seeking a IT Superintendent for our Rochester operation near Lovelock, NV. This position will report to the Assistant General Manager. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for leading and managing all Information Technology operations at the Rochester mine site.

  • Directly supervise and coach a cross-functional Rochester IT team, including roles covering end-user support, network administration, radio and fleet system support, and systems administration.
  • Build and focus the team culture on proactive service management, documentation, and preventive maintenance.
  • Partner with Corporate IT leadership to standardize operations and implement global IT strategies at the site level.
  • Own Rochester IT uptime and resilience, particularly for critical systems supporting production, fleet automation, communication, and safety.
  • Ensure prompt, visible incident response with root cause analysis and follow-through.
  • Enforce use of ticketing and change management systems to improve service transparency and reduce shadow work.
  • Oversee Rochester IT infrastructure including servers, switches, wireless infrastructure, and interconnectivity with enterprise systems.
  • Lead coordination and escalation efforts for issues involving corporate-managed systems (e.g., authentication services, licensing systems).
  • Act as a hands-on technical resource when needed, especially during complex troubleshooting or project escalations.
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with Rochester leadership, department managers, and project owners to manage IT expectations, timelines, and resource constraints.
  • Participate in operational planning to ensure IT needs (connectivity, licenses, access, etc.) are included from the start.
  • Assess Rochester IT risks and propose upgrades, redundancy plans, or staffing models to improve performance and resilience.
  • Contribute to long-term roadmap development and cost-justified capital planning in collaboration with Corporate IT.
  • Drive standards around documentation, escalation protocols, and ownership clarity (RACI) to improve consistency and reduce key-person dependencies.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 15+ years of professional IT experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing technical staff and infrastructure operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading IT teams in remote or industrial settings, especially where uptime, communication, and coordination are mission critical.
  • Hands-on expertise in Windows-based infrastructure, networking (LAN/WAN/Wireless), endpoint management, and infrastructure monitoring tools.
  • Strong understanding of the IT needs specific to 24/7 industrial or operational environments (e.g., automation systems, radio communications, remote connectivity).
  • Track record of improving service delivery, process maturity, and team accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to bridge technical concepts and business value for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mining, manufacturing, or utilities sector experience.
  • Familiarity with fleet management systems, GIS systems, radio systems, and remote monitoring technologies.
  • Experience working within a matrixed organization with both functional and operational reporting lines.
  • ITIL or other IT service management certifications.
