The IT Statewide Systems Technician 1-4 position is responsible for providing technical support and leadership within the End User Computing Section of the Office of Technology Services. This role serves as the first point of contact for IT incidents and requests from a large user base, ensuring effective troubleshooting and resolution of hardware and software issues. The position involves both onsite and remote support, project management for hardware and software deployments, and collaboration with various technical teams to enhance IT services across the state.

  • Act as the first point of contact to provide end user support through information updates, creation and tracking of service requests, and performing hardware and software troubleshooting tasks.
  • Perform user and system account management tasks such as resetting passwords and updating user account information.
  • Lead user and system testing of new or changed software and hardware settings and configurations.
  • Utilize a ticketing system to log all services provided and document solutions for future knowledge base needs.
  • Participate in statewide emergency preparedness and response planning, including setting up temporary networks and computers at shelters.
  • Act as a technical lead for team members and assist with providing onsite and remote end user hardware, software, and application support.
  • Perform mobile device management enrollment and configuration deployment.
  • Provide direct or functional supervision over lower-level personnel and serve as a technical lead for training.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement of services and operations and make recommendations to supervisory staff.
  • A baccalaureate degree plus two years of experience in information technology.
  • An associate's degree in information technology may substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
  • Two years of experience or training in information technology may substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
  • Candidates may combine experience or training in information technology and college credit to substitute for the required baccalaureate degree.
  • Six years of full-time work experience in any field may substitute for the required baccalaureate degree.
  • Experience with mobile device management systems.
  • Knowledge of local area network troubleshooting.
