About The Position

The IT Specialist (SYSADMIN) will serve in the Corporate Business & Analysis Group of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE, focusing on cybersecurity and systems administration. The role involves developing and implementing programs to ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, acting as a technical advisor, maintaining cybersecurity documentation, and monitoring user compliance with security protocols.

Requirements

• At least one year of information technology-related experience in federal service or private/public sector.
• Demonstrated attention to detail in work performance, particularly in the design and configuration of workstations, servers, or network devices.
• Experience in customer service, assessing client needs, and providing quality products and services.
• Effective oral communication skills, including making clear presentations and collaborating with teams.
• Problem-solving skills, including identifying issues and making sound recommendations.

Nice To Haves

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement programs to ensure systems security policies are understood and adhered to by users.
• Act as a cybersecurity technical advisor for the organization and the Authorizing Official (AO).
• Maintain a repository for all cybersecurity-related documentation, including Cybersecurity Workforce management and tracking, Certification and Accreditation, and Computer Network Defense.
• Monitor information systems and user compliance with cybersecurity policy and review the results of such monitoring.
• Ensure synchronization and coordination of cybersecurity inspections, tests, and reviews with affected parties and organizations.
