About The Position

The IT Specialist (Policy and Planning) position within the Department of Defense is responsible for ensuring that all local facility programs align with the mission objectives. This role involves coordinating resources for asset management systems, establishing local priorities, and developing policies and procedures related to operations. The specialist will also provide technical information to staff and ensure effective responses to operational directives.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• One year of specialized experience in analyzing customer requirements, implementing IT hardware/software requirements, and applying changes in technology to IT programs.
• Demonstrated competencies in Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an overview of all programs within the local facility to ensure alignment with the mission.
• Coordinates resources for asset management systems to automate IT requirements.
• Establishes local priorities and clarifies responsibilities to eliminate duplication and resolve conflicts.
• Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates actions, taskers, and activities through correspondence, reports, and briefings, recommending necessary actions.
• Assists in developing policies, processes, and procedures related to operations.
• Provides or arranges for technical and interpretive information to staff for effective response to taskers and directives.
