About The Position

The IT Specialist (INFOSEC) position at the United States Fleet Forces Command involves serving as a Subject Matter Expert in cybersecurity and network operations. The role focuses on leading deployment initiatives, providing operational guidance, and ensuring the cybersecurity posture of systems is maintained during changes and updates. The specialist will work closely with both contractor and government agencies to facilitate effective deployment and integration of IT solutions within the Navy's live environment.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
  • Experience in IT-related roles demonstrating attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience planning and conducting IT performance assessments and security risk analysis.
  • Experience mitigating cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Experience providing technical advice and guidance on critical application issues.

Nice To Haves

  • ITIL Version 3 Foundations, Service Operations and Service Transition certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Explain team goals and objectives and assist in organizing work to accomplish them.
  • Coach and facilitate team members in solving work-related issues.
  • Maintain program and administrative reference materials, project files, and relevant background documents.
  • Provide direction to Contractor and Government agencies for operational guidance on capability updates.
  • Serve as a Navy Network Operations Subject Matter Expert for Endpoint Development and Deployment.
  • Lead the Deployment Change Advisory Board (DCAB).
  • Analyze integration, testing, and execution of changes to the cybersecurity baseline.
  • React to operational issues resulting from deployments of enterprise solutions.
  • Oversee and direct the deployment of software, including application releases and vulnerability patches.
  • Analyze and develop integration, testing, operations, and maintenance of systems security and patching.
