The role requires a Certified A+ professional who provides computer support and first and second tier support of desktop equipment. Requirements

  • Demonstrate the skills necessary to support the Credit Union’s end-users utilizing problem solving and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practiced networking protocols, terminology, and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of network troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Thorough knowledge of PC hardware and software.
  • Current knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to information technology.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and/ or direction.
  • Ability to develop and implement technology projects.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with outside vendors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time.
  • A+ Certification
  • The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field and a minimum of two years’ experience maintaining and administering computer systems in LAN/WAN environment

Nice To Haves

  • MCSA Desktop certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow department operations run books for the core computer system, network, phone, and desktop environments.
  • Develop and maintain imaging system for workstations.
  • Perform log and system reviews as well as operations and administration on all systems.
  • Recommend improvements in efficiencies and effectiveness of network, phone, desktop, and computer operations.
  • Communicate with IT management on projects, support, and future needs planning both in writing and verbally.
  • Maintain documented network, computer and systems diagrams and integration cross references on all systems.
  • Document all work and prioritize projects with Redwood Credit Union’s existing ticketing system.
  • Maintain full operability of PC’s, hardware, software, and network services.
  • Document and resolve both end user and network related problems.
  • Prioritize problem resolution and daily schedule as work dictates.
  • Maintain current printing, copying, and scanning devices and develop future growth plans.
  • Plan and perform hardware and software upgrades and installs to accommodate growth, upkeep, and preventative maintenance of The Redwood Group.
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards internal to the department and external to end-users.
  • Develop and maintain user guides and FAQs, network diagrams and procedures.
  • Diagnose and repair/report PC, phone and/or network services issues.
  • Support the collection/maintenance of The Redwood Group’s hardware and software asset inventory.
  • Apply open and professional communication with all levels of staff while assisting in hardware and software support.
  • Train with vendors to support new technology or enhance knowledge of current technology.
  • Uphold established department service standards and organizational values.
  • Employ industry security standards on PC and hardware.
  • Ensure adequate patches and updates are applied to all systems.
  • Respond and report to security issues involving hardware and software.
  • Update core operating systems, as security flaws are presented/discovered.
  • Apply changes as necessary in response to audit items.
  • Solve outstanding security issues through research and management suggested options.
  • Organize data room and surrounding areas and ensure cleanliness standards.
  • Demonstrate current technological understanding in the execution of duties.
  • Communicate and document project and support issue progress.
  • Maintain technical proficiencies to support current and planned hardware, software, and network computing needs.
