About The Position

The role of the Desktop/PC Support Technician requires an exceptional individual who possesses the ability to support both the human and technical sides of technology. The Support Technician will rely on excellent client service, problem-solving, and communication skills to provide helpdesk support to resolve most day-to-day issues. Success in this role requires a strong technical aptitude, and the ability to work well on a team. You must also be capable of working proactively and on your own initiative in carrying out day-to-day responsibilities. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 18 TO WORK AT TRIUMPH FOODS. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Services Management, or related field or relevant professional experience in a technology support and engineering role with progressive levels of responsibility preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, systems, and network issues.
  • Ability to install, upgrade, repair, move, and replace desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows client operating systems and standard Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate in both technical and non-technical language.
  • Able to understand and be understood using the English language in conversation and on paperwork.
  • Basic math skills needed.
  • Common sense, critical thinking, and problem-solving are all required to function effectively in the role.
  • Ability to deliver outstanding customer service, and demonstrate professionalism while maintaining composure in stressful situations.
  • Must be detail oriented with a strong work ethic focused on providing a positive customer experience.
  • Ability to work an on-call schedule during non-business hours, including evening and weekend support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Onsite support for most office desktop software, email, hardware, peripherals issues, and other work requests
  • Some factory floor desktop and application support including Wi-Fi network and devices
  • Support of Symbol Wireless Hand scanners
  • Maintain close contact and open communication with clients until an issue has been resolved
  • Setup and deploy new systems, setup users, configure printing
  • Manage fleet of printers both leased and owned
  • Triage and escalate complex issues appropriately
  • Provide technical leadership, training and knowledge sharing to enhance user experience
  • Coordination of service requests with third-party technology providers
  • Conduct technical support in line with documented procedures; maintain hardware, software and network inventory, diagrams and related documentation
  • Provide manager with regular updates on common problems encountered and identify possible longer-term solutions and improvements
  • Participate in special projects as required
