The IT Solutions Architect is typically engaged as the highest-level technology expert across one or more architecture domains such as business, data, application, and technology. This role will be responsible for analyzing and translating business, information and technical requirements into an architectural design that outlines solutions to achieve business objectives following enterprise architecture principles and standards. This may include creating prototypes and proofs of concept to help define requirements. The architect will recommend implementations that are scalable, sustainable, and add value. The IT Solutions Architect will also need to be business-oriented and results-focused, helping the college to enhance its operations through the implementation of technical solutions. The IT Solutions architect must have specific expertise in one vertical (domain) of The Open Group Architecture Framework but will work across domains at times.
