About The Position

AmeriLife is a national leader in developing, marketing, and distributing life and health insurance, annuities, and retirement planning solutions. The IT – Solutions Architect will lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide technology solutions that align with AmeriLife’s strategic goals. This role will serve as a key technical contributor within the IT Applications & Architecture team, responsible for defining architectural standards, guiding stakeholders, and ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing systems across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in solutions architecture or technical leadership role.
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale solutions, including large-scale web applications or internet portals
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred), microservices, APIs, and modern development frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise systems such as CRM, Portals, and data platforms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of complex IT solutions across multiple platforms and business domains.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and IT leadership to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Define and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and governance processes.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to support innovation and efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring alignment with architectural vision.
• Oversee solution integration, data flow, and system interoperability across AmeriLife’s technology ecosystem.
• Ensure solutions meet performance, security, and compliance requirements.
• Partner with infrastructure, security, and DevOps teams to support deployment and operational readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement in solution delivery and architecture maturity.
