Performs problem solving and assistance on various software applications and hardware systems for District 6 users. Provide individual instruction to users on new or updated technologies. Installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs various types of equipment necessary to user’s success such as: laptops, Chromebooks, desktops, document cameras, I/O devices, projectors, laptop charging carts, projectors, and interactive panels. Performs related work and other duties as assigned by the Technology Services Manager.

  • Performs work according to printed information on the Support Services work order system.
  • Solve technical problems quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to make decisions using good judgment and common sense.
  • Work often as part of a team of technicians to complete assigned projects; work independently to resolve assigned site tickets.
  • Responds to questions from the help desk; remotely assisting faculty, staff, and students.
  • Track and inventory equipment and materials
  • Performs data entry and maintenance of records such as project documents, user instructions, and help desk tickets.
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace features and functions including the Google Admin Console.
  • The ability to communicate orally with vendors, management, and coworkers is crucial.
  • Regular use of the phone, personal ,mobile device, Slack, and email for communication is essential.
  • Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges are essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.
  • Must also be able to position oneself to relocate or maintain equipment, including under tables and desks and also multiple floors.
  • Heavy team lifting may be expected, occasional lifting of 50 lbs.
  • Drives various district vehicles daily.
  • Understanding and maintenance of power tools needed for essential job functions
  • Participate in continuing education courses according to departmental and organizational needs.
  • Good working knowledge of data networking principles and design of both Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN). Including CAT5/CAT6 cabling systems and infrastructure.
  • Ability to independently research and solve hardware and software problems using commonly available materials and troubleshooting practices.
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and the general application and use cases of these software components.

  • Must have high school diploma or GED.
  • CompTIA A+ certification, or the ability to achieve this within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License
