About The Position

The Medical Device - IT Service Manager at McKesson Corporation is a pivotal role that focuses on the design, delivery, implementation, and maintenance of IT initiatives specifically for US Oncology Medical Devices. This position is integral to ensuring that medical devices are effectively integrated into patient care systems, enhancing the quality and accessibility of healthcare services. The IT Service Manager will provide technical leadership and support for various medical device projects, ensuring that all systems function optimally and meet the necessary regulatory standards. In this role, the IT Service Manager will participate in the planning and execution of medical device implementations, coordinating updates and upgrades to existing systems. This includes making recommendations for necessary resources, both from vendors and internal staff, to ensure successful project outcomes. The manager will also be responsible for testing support, ensuring that software and hardware enhancements are reliable and effectively implemented across US Oncology practices. The position requires oversight of system functionality updates, ensuring that any changes do not negatively impact existing operations. The IT Service Manager will also be involved in daily IT operations for Clinical and Radiation Oncology Service Lines, maintaining comprehensive records of system changes and upgrades. Developing and implementing service strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize service delivery and enhance customer experience is a key responsibility. Staying current with industry trends and advancements in medical device technology is essential, as is ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations. The IT Service Manager will act as a subject matter expert, influencing technical decisions related to medical devices and supporting knowledge management within the IT department. This role emphasizes customer satisfaction through professional interactions and effective problem resolution, contributing to overall departmental performance improvement goals.
