About The Position

The IT Senior Quality Analyst/Tester position at the State of Minnesota involves ensuring the reliability and performance of software systems within the Department of Human Services. Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of IT quality assurance experience at the program level.
  • Experience in coordinating multiple resources and testing activities for large initiatives with critical deadlines.
  • Proficiency with quality testing and tracking tools such as IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) or similar.
  • Ability to design reports using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or ELM to provide status updates and visual content.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills to drive quality initiatives and solve complex issues in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with management and cross-functional teams.
  • Customer service skills including active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, particularly with large, complex systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of CMS testing, security testing, and mobile application testing.
  • Experience with Minnesota Eligibility Technology System (METS) and State Medical Review Team (SMRT).
  • Experience with Curam HealthCare solutions within the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
  • Experience in both manual and automated testing, including executing test scripts for system and regression testing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the reliability and performance of software systems through rigorous testing and quality assurance practices.
  • Mentor and train junior QA team members, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Manage QA activities and maintain essential quality control documentation for audits.
  • Coordinate multiple resources, assignments, and testing activities for a large portfolio of initiatives with critical business deadlines.
  • Participate in meetings to advocate for the QA team and negotiate timelines and testing requirements with cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and upper management, providing necessary updates during critical and non-critical times.
